GENE SIMMONS is an international rock legend and co-founder of KISS, America’s #1 gold record award-winning group of all time in all categories (RIAA). As a serial entrepreneur, Simmons has achieved success that reaches far beyond his music career, extending into television, film, publishing, merchandising, restaurants, consumer products, and more.
Simmons’ was inspired to become a rock star when he saw a televised performance by the Beatles. He put his first band together, The Missing Links, with classmates while attending Joseph Pulitzer Middle School. After middle school and throughout high school, Simmons formed several bands, including The Long Island Sounds and Bullfrog Bheer. He met fellow KISS co-founder Paul Stanley in 1970, and they formed their first attempt at a band, Wicked Lester. Though the band developed a prominent following in the New York rock scene, Simmons worked several odd jobs to make additional money, including a position as a 6th-grade teacher in Spanish Harlem and serving as an assistant to an editor at Vogue magazine.
In the winter of 1972, with a desire to create the “ultimate” rock band, not just “another” rock band, Simmons and Stanley formed KISS with original band members Peter Criss and Paul “Ace” Frehley. Inspired by his love of comic books and horror films, Simmons conceived the concept of his face paint. The addition of elaborate costumes, frenetic stage performance, and ostentatious concert effects catapulted KISS to international stardom and a coveted position as one of the most recognized rock and roll bands in the world.
Since its inception, KISS has developed millions of fans around the world, also known as the KISS Army. With over 100 million CDs and DVDs sold worldwide, KISS has sold out stadiums and arenas around the world, breaking box-office records set by Elvis and The Beatles. KISS was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 and, in 1999, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In December 2023, KISS held its last two concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Simmons continues to hit the stage with his GENE SIMMONS BAND, which, in addition to Simmons, includes Brent Woods (Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil of MÖTLEY CRÜE), Zach Throne Mother Pearl, The Pink Floyd Experience, Cody Carpenter) and Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Foreigner, Sass Jordan, and Ozzy Osbourne).
Formed in 2001, The Iron Maidens have quickly established themselves as one of Southern California’s most popular tribute acts and are rapidly gaining international recognition. The band boasts beauty, excellent musicianship, lively stage presence, and a remarkable stage show with theatrical scenes interspersed throughout.
First and foremost on the agenda of The Iron Maidens is talent. These women are highly trained professionals with diversified musical backgrounds ranging from orchestral and musical theater to blues and rock. Ying Yang Twins are an American hip-hop duo consisting of Kaine (born Eric Jackson on December 16, 1978) and D-Roc (born Deongelo Holmes on February 23, 1979). VINCE NEIL, the legendary frontman of Mötley Crüe, is an international superstar, accomplished businessman, and heartfelt philanthropist. Raised on the tough streets of Compton, California, Vince Neil fell in love with music as a child, developing a broad vocabulary that ranged from classic Motown to Hard Rock. As a teenager, he began performing with local bands and soon discovered a passion for the stage and a natural talent as a singer and performer.
He fronted the popular band Rock Candy before reuniting with high school buddy Tommy Lee in 1981, establishing his spot in rock and roll history with the formation of Mötley Crüe. Mötley Crüe’s epic 40+‐year run included countless multi‐platinum releases, more than 22 hit singles, over 100 million albums sold, and dozens of global tours with sold-out arenas, inclusive of some of the largest venues in the world.
Vince Neil shows no sign of slowing down, continuing to carry on with the unending “The Legacy Continues Tour.” Neil continues to perform all the classic Mötley Crüe hits with select cuts from his three solo albums.
L.A. Guns never looked like the pretty poster boys that so many of their peers did, but more the band that you would be terrified to bump into in an alley as they would likely be carrying switchblades and ready for a fight. But despite having many songs to back up that image, the band could also write powerful ballads (see the smash hit, “The Ballad Of Jayne” for Exhibit A of this argument) that showed there were some serious songwriting chops in the band.
Those chops are on full display on the band’s two most recent studio albums and the upcoming new album, “Checkered Past,” arguably one of the most vital and exciting releases in the band’s catalog. Since their self-titled debut in 1988 to the widely praised comeback albums “The Missing Peace” and “The Devil You Know,” L.A. GUNS, led by Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis, have consistently delivered solid rock ‘n roll to their fans.
Vixen was founded in St. Paul, MN, by high-schooler guitarist Jan Kuehnemund. The desire to
achieve the rock star dreams like so many before her, Jan took her group to Hollywood but
soon retooled the line-up, which included vocalist Janet Gardner, drummer Roxy Petrucci
and bassist Share Ross (Pedersen).
In 1987, a pair of big brass balls at EMI Records decided to roll the dice with Vixen, despite all the stereotypes regarding bands fronted by chicks, was then initiated into the male-dominated club of hard rock. EMI released their self-named debut album “Vixen,” featuring the group’s first hit, “Edge of a Broken Heart,” penned by Richard Marx and Fee Waybill (The Tubes). MTV became Vixen’s playground, and with exhaustive touring, Vixen embarked on their ride.
Piling on more hits, the band charted Billboard at #22 with ballads “Cryin’” and “Love Made
Me,” at #36. The road continued to call, with slots to open for Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Eddie Money, and many others. Vixen had firmly distinguished themselves as a premiere rock act to be
taken seriously.
The aptly named SteelHeart is the rock n’ roll band fronted by internationally known Croatian-American musician Miljenko Matijevic. Miljenko’s powerful multi-octave vocal range is and always has been the steel, heart and soul of what is SteelHeart. With much heart and steely determination, this band has been going strong and rocking hard for 30 years. SteelHeart shows no sign of riding into the sunset as they are once again on the horizon with a new album on the way.
